Artful Living

about the artist

Lisa Kozokowsky's oversized canvases in a combination of oils, metals and encaustics portray western Canadian landscapes with an imaginative and abstractive burst of energy and color.  Her inspiration for her unique "wild woman" style is drawn from the rich colors and gold leaf of the Canadian contemporary landscape as well as the mining of natural resources such as our own oil sands topography.

feature painting

"After The Rain" as this painting is titled is one of Lisa's first encaustics (wax).  The imagary represents a long car ride, perhaps from Calgary to Winnipeg.  With endless land and sky to look at, one's mind wanders and dreams of adventures still to come.  Even in boredom, there is still beauty to behold and dreams to hold onto. feature
